I'd love to share a simple philosophy with you
"ἀποκαραδοκία"
Now, if you don't read nor understand Greek (I don't!)
"Apokaradokia" is a Biblical reference commonly translated to mean:
- "apo": - to intentionally ignore/turn away from
- "kara" - one's head
- "dokeo" - thinking or stretched forward
Put together...
"Thinking and stretching my vision
with an anxious and intense expectation
forwards and towards greater things to come."
To be so FOCUSED on a single desire that all other problems fade away.
Wow. Did you get chills?
Now, you're probably saying - "That sounds great and all though what's the catch?
The catch is there is no promise that problems will not exist.
Rather, with a great expectation of things to come, your suffering, your struggle, your problems fade into the background.
"Apokaradokia" is a Biblical reference from the Apostle Paul who, while imprisoned and persecuted for his beliefs, has an expectation that his suffering will glorify a greater purpose... God's purpose for his life.
No amount of money...
No job title...
No intimate relationship...
No amount of worry...
will ever solve your problems.
Heck, more money, a new job or title, and a different relationship,
just means BIGGER AND DIFFERENT PROBLEMS!
Instead of focusing on your problems and worries,
Focus on your present moment.
This is where you find purpose.
Your past is done and gone. Leave it there.
The future hasn't happened yet. It doesn't exist.
This present moment is your life and this present moment is all you are guaranteed.
When you are so focused on your present moment, you can weather the storm of problems with a joyous and hopeful expectancy of what is to come.
"For I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us."
Romans 8:18
Regardless of what religion and creed you believe in,
there is a simple belief that I would like to share with you.
"Things happen for you,
not to you...
WHEN YOU DECIDE TO ALLOW THINGS TO WORK IN YOUR FAVOR."

A cliche is cliche because it's based on the truth that others cannot handle and refuse to recognize as the truth.
